MARK Yates admits Alvechurch ‘have a lot to learn’ following a 3-1 home defeat against Bury Town last weekend.
Despite taking the lead through Kieran Wakefield’s goal, Bury scored three late goals to turn the game on its head at Lye Meadow.
Alvechurch find themselves just above the Southern League Premier Central drop zone on goal difference.
And Church assistant boss Yates felt his side were punished for producing a lethargic display against Bury.
Yates said: “It was a disappointing performance and result. I didn’t think we were at the races.
“I didn’t think we were anywhere near the levels I’ve seen in the period of time I’ve been here.
“We were a little bit lacklustre in the warm-up and we didn’t have the energy to produce a quality performance.
“It’s poor from us as a team to concede three goals. There’s a lot of things for us to learn [from that].
“We’ve spoken a few home truths [in the dressing room] and the gaffer has asked for feedback [from the players].”
Alvechurch are next in action against Stamford on Tuesday, January 27 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Lye Meadow.
