JOSE Marquez scored a perfect hat-trick as Alvechurch upset higher-division Leamington 3-0 in FA Cup second round qualifying.

Marquez netted a stunning nine-minute treble to dump their National League North opponents out of the competition at Lye Meadow.

The draw for FA Cup third round qualifying takes place at 1pm on Monday, September 15.

After a goalless first half, Alvechurch broke the deadlock on 72 minutes when Marquez sent a sublime lob over Leamington goalkeeper Rogan Ravenhill from 20-yards out.

And Marquez struck again six minutes later as he headed Jonathan Ngandu’s corner from the right into the net to double his tally for the game.

The Forest Green Rovers loanee completed his hat-trick on 82 minutes when he jinked his way into the box and drilled a low shot into the bottom right corner to leave the visitors stunned.

The visitors had a chance to reduce the deficit late on from the penalty spot when Nile Timson handled the ball in the box.

However, Alvechurch goalkeeper Redman Evans saved Ant Lynn’s penalty to compound Leamington’s misery.

Alvechurch are next in action against Bury Town on Saturday, September 20 with kick-off at 3pm at Ram Meadow.
