KERON Jackson insists Redditch United have the ‘toughest game’ on the final day of the season after conceding late on to draw 3-3 with Barwell.

Redditch conceded in injury time after Reece Flanagan, Aram Soleman and Johnny Johnston put the Reds ahead on three separate occasions at Top Field.

And the result leaves Redditch inside the Southern League Premier Central play-off places on goal difference with the Reds to play champions Needham Market at home on the final day of the season.

Reds assistant manager Jackson said: “We’ll just continue doing everything that we always do, nothing will change this week.

“Our fixture on Saturday is probably the toughest in the league, we’re playing the champions who are the best team in the league, we’ve got the toughest fixture of the teams around us, we’ll give it a good go.

“A point away from home is a good point, we’re disappointed with the manner in which we conceded the third goal but we’re still pleased with a point and we’re now three games unbeaten.

“You’re thinking can you see it out, in games there’s key moments and if you take your chances it changes the whole game but I’m not going to be critical of the lads because they’ve been superb.”

Against Barwell, Redditch broke the deadlock on 11 minutes when Flanagan coolly placed a penalty into the bottom left corner after Liam Castle fouled Johnston in the box.

However, Barwell equalised six minutes later with a spot kick of their own as Brady Hickey powered home a penalty after the Reds were penalised for handball in the area.

The Reds reclaimed the lead on 22 minutes when Soleman drove into the box before blasting a shot past Castle from a tight angle via the aid of the woodwork.

Barwell drew level for a second time one minute after the break as Hickey’s shot from the edge of the penalty area looped into the top right corner.

The visitors took the lead for a third time five minutes later when Johnston beat his man before curling a low shot into the bottom left corner from 20-yards out.

However, Barwell snatched a point four minutes into injury time after the Reds failed to deal with Castle’s long ball into the box and Jahvan Davidson-Miller volleyed home from eight-yards out.

Redditch finish the season at home to Needham on Saturday, April 27 with kick-off at 3pm at the Valley Stadium.
