TYRESE Warmington proved the hero as Redditch United beat Cleethorpes Town on penalties to advance in the FA Trophy.
Warmington saved the home side’s sixth penalty in sudden death to book Redditch’s place in the next round at the Linden.
Victory secures Redditch’s place in the FA Trophy first round proper.
Neither side could break the deadlock after 90 minutes which sent the game to a shootout.
Cleethorpes missed their second penalty only for Aram Soleman to see his spot kick saved onto the post.
The teams were level after five penalties apiece before debutant Ackeme Francis-Burrell confidently scored for Redditch.
And Warmington then saved Dan Gallimore’s spot kick to seal a 5-4 shootout victory.
Redditch are next in action against Bishop’s Stortford on Saturday, October 11 with kick-off at 3pm at the RDA Stadium.
