REDDITCH United captain Reece Flanagan and defender Ryan Wollacott have turned down improved contract offers to stay at the club.
Midfielder Flanagan took the captain’s armband last season and played a crucial role in helping the Reds achieve their highest league finish since 2015/16. He was the club’s top scorer last season with 18 league goals.
And key defender Wollacott departs after three seasons with Redditch during which time he made 146 appearances for the club.
Redditch chairman, David Faulkner, said: “Today is a sad day for our club as both players are great lads from fantastic families.
“We would have loved to have kept them for the following season, and we tried everything to retain their services offering deals to them that are probably the best ever offered to players in the clubs history.
“Unfortunately for us, they would like to seek a new challenge and the duo will depart with our very best wishes.”
