PRINCE Henry scored his first Redditch United goal as the Reds eased to a comfortable 3-0 against Ashton United to progress in the FA Trophy.

Henry completed the scoring late on after goals from Danny King and Reece Flanagan either side of half time put Matt Clarke’s side in command at the Valley Stadium.

Redditch discover their second round opponents on Monday, October 30 with ties to take place on the weekend of Saturday, November 18.

The home side took the lead on 20 minutes when King slotted home following a clever turn from Jaiden White’s pass.

And the Reds doubled their advantage on 70 minutes as Flanagan finished underneath the Ashton goalkeeper moments after White hit the post.

United sealed victory on 84 minutes when Henry pounced on a loose ball and superbly turned his marker before firing home in off the left-hand post.

The Reds almost added a fourth goal only for AJ George’s audacious shot to hit the crossbar after good link-up play between Alex Cameron, White and Henry.

And the final whistle came soon after as the Reds proved too strong for their high-flying Northern Premier League Premier opponents.

Redditch are next in action at home to Halesowen Town on Monday, October 30 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Valley Stadium.
