KERON Jackson has every confidence his Redditch United players will bounce back following a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Royston Town.

The Reds promotion hopes suffered a blow as Alfie Williams scored the game’s only goal on 69 minutes at Garden Walk as United slipped to back-to-back league defeats.

Despite the defeat, Jackson is confident his side can bounce back when they travel to league leaders Needham Market in midweek.

Reds assistant manager Jackson said: “We’re all disappointed, there was nothing in the game, I think we had the better chances over the 90 minutes and they scored at a critical time.

“Losing two on the bounce is not the way to go but we believe in this group and I have every confidence that the boys will bounce back.

“It’s a quick turnaround, we go to Needham on Tuesday night, it’s just a case of preparing for that game and getting a positive result.

“We’ll have a couple of bodies back for Needham and we’ll be strong.”

Royston won the game courtesy of Williams’ fine effort into the top left corner from 20-yards out before Kian Harness saw red for the home side late on.

The result means the Reds sit fourth in the Southern League Premier Central table, four points clear of the chasing pack in the race for a play-off spot.

Redditch are next in action away at Needham on Tuesday, March 19 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Quinton Road.
