REDDITCH United twice surrendered the lead in a 2-2 draw with Walsall Wood in their latest pre-season outing.

Goals from Johnny Johnston and Alex Cameron twice put Redditch ahead only for Walsall to level on two separate occasions at the Valley Stadium.

The Reds made the perfect start when George Atwal won the ball high up the pitch and flicked the ball to Jaiden White who in turn found Cameron who rolled the ball past the goalkeeper.

Walsall equalised soon after as Nick Clayton-Phillips latched onto a flick inside the box and slotted the ball into the bottom corner.

The home side reclaimed the lead before the break when Johnston finished from close range after White saw his initial effort saved.

However, Johnston came off with a hamstring problem just before half time following a foul committed by Ash Carter.

The Reds introduced a number of trialists at the interval only for Walsall to draw level for a second time on 54 minutes as Matt Funge tapped the ball home.

Redditch continue their pre-season campaign against Stourport Swifts on Tuesday, July 30 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Walshes Meadow.
