REDDITCH United manager Mike Fowler has committed his future to the club by signing a new contract with the Reds.
Fowler guided Redditch to a seventh place finish last season as only goal difference denied the Reds a place in the Southern League Premier Central play-offs.
The new contract will see Fowler relinquish his role as academy manager although the Redditch boss will remain closely involved in the academy setup.
Fowler said: “The academy and education pathway remain incredibly important to me and to the future of Redditch United.
“We’ve seen first hand the quality of players that can come through the programme, and I’m excited to continue supporting that pathway while giving my full focus to helping the first team progress and achieve its ambitions.
The move allows Fowler to dedicate more of his focus to the senior squad while remaining heavily involved in the club’s academy pathway and player development.
Redditch have created a new role at the club to lead the day-to-day operations and management of United’s academy.
The pathway has already seen the likes of Billy Fielding, Jimmy Richardson, Joe Neeson and Omari Brown progress to the first team.
Current first team player Robbie Bunn came through the club’s education programme and has made more than 130 appearances for Redditch.
