REECE Flanagan scored a second-half brace as Redditch United produced a sensational comeback to beat St Ives Town 3-2 having trailed by two goals at the break.
The Reds looked set for defeat at half time only for Alex Cameron to reduce the deficit early in the second half before Flanagan struck twice in the space of five minutes to complete a remarkable turnaround at Westwood Road.
And the result means Redditch sit fifth in the Southern League Premier Central table.
St Ives broke the deadlock on 20 minutes when former Reds player Tiago Nassuncolo scored from the penalty spot after Liam Armstrong committed a foul on the scorer in the box.
And the home side doubled their lead on 31 minutes as Ed Hotter found the top left corner with a stunning outside of the boot effort from the edge of the penalty area.
After wasting a number of chances at the end of the first half, Redditch eventually responded four minutes into the second period as Cameron fired home from Brad Burton’s cutback.
And the Reds drew level on 67 minutes when Flanagan turned home Cameron’s pass in a near identical move to Redditch’s first goal.
The visitors were then given a golden chance to win the game after Callum Rowe won a penalty following an excellent run into the box.
And Flanagan duly dispatched the resulting spot kick into the top left corner on 73 minutes, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to complete a superb comeback from Matt Clarke’s side.
Redditch are next in action at home to Long Eaton United on Monday, September 25 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Valley Stadium.
