REDDITCH United suffered a humiliating 7-0 home defeat against league leaders Spalding United after conceding five goals in the final half-hour.

Goals from Lewis White and Jack Roberts put Spalding into a two-goal lead at the interval at the Valley Stadium.

However, Mike Fowler’s side suffered a second-half collapse as the visitors ran riot to reclaim top spot in the table.

Joshua McCammon’s goal sparked a dramatic collapse before Roberts added his second of the game and Bartosz Cybulski scored from the penalty spot.

And late goals from Abduramane Sani and Dion Sembie-Ferris condemned the Reds to a humiliating home defeat.

The results leaves Redditch sixth in the Southern League Premier Central table, two points outside of the play-off places.

Spalding broke the deadlock on 19 minutes when White nodded into an empty net from close range after Connor Johnson’s initial header came back off the crossbar.

And the visitors doubled their advantage on 33 minutes as Roberts finished into the bottom left corner when one-on-one with Tyrese Warmington from McCammon’s through ball.

The away side all but sealed the points on 64 minutes when McCammon latched onto a loose ball and lashed a shot past Warmington from the edge of the penalty area.

Spalding struck again on 71 minutes as Roberts drilled a low effort into the bottom left corner after the Reds failed to deal with a cross into the box from the left.

The visitors made it five two minutes later when Cybulski rolled a penalty down the middle of the goal after Matty Warburton pulled Roberts to the ground in the box.

Spalding scored their sixth goal one minute from time as substitute Sani bundled the ball into an empty net after Roberts pounced on some slack defending.

And Sembie-Ferris compounded the home side’s misery in injury time when he cut in from the left and saw his effort take a huge deflection and loop into the net.

Redditch are next in action against Kidderminster Harriers in the Worcestershire Senior Cup on Monday, December 1 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Valley Stadium.
