REDDITCH United have confirmed the signings of goalkeeper Ollie Taylor and playmaker Nick Clayton-Phillips.

Taylor joins the club from Stourbridge with Reds goalkeeper Callum Smith heading in the other direction on a permanent basis.

Clayton-Phillips moves to the Valley Stadium following a brief spell at Halesowen Town having started the campaign with Walsall Wood.

United boss Matt Clarke said: “Ollie has always done well against us over the years playing in the Bromsgrove derby games and although not the finished article just yet, he comes in as one of the best young keepers in the area and we’re very pleased to have him onboard.

“I’ve always been a fan of NCP and hoped I’d one day get the opportunity of working with him rather than making plans to stop him when he played against us.

“He brings that bit of quality we’ve been missing in the attacking midfield area and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Goalkeeper Taylor kept eight clean sheets for Stourbridge in all competitions this season and previously made more than 100 appearances for Bromsgrove Sporting.

The 25-year-old is the son of former Birmingham City goalkeeper Maik Taylor and previously enjoyed a spell with the Reds in the 2020/21 season.

Midfielder Clayton-Phillips spent time in West Bromwich Albion’s academy before completing a move to Alvechurch.

The 25-year-old impressed for Church during a three-season spell before joining Walsall in the summer and then later moving to Halesowen in October.

Following the arrival of Clayton-Phillips, Redditch have confirmed the departures of midfielder Billy Shaw, who has since rejoined Bromsgrove, and Ross Evans.

Both Taylor and Clayton-Phillips missed the chance to make their Redditch debuts last weekend after United saw their weekend game against Hitchin Town postponed due to adverse weather as Storm Darragh swept across the country.

Redditch are next in action against Biggleswade Town on Saturday, December 14 with kick-off at 3pm at the Valley Stadium.
