REDDITCH United saw their five-game unbeaten run in the league come to an end following a 3-1 defeat at Worcester City on Easter Monday.
The Reds slipped to defeat at Sixways Stadium in a blow to the club’s play-off hopes despite an early goal from Morgan Owen putting the visitors ahead.
A goal from Charlie Lutz drew City level before an own goal put the home side ahead and Brandon Smalley’s late strike sealed the points for Worcester.
That came after Redditch thrashed Leiston 4-1 on Good Friday at the Valley Stadium as Robbie Bunn, Alex Cameron, Luke Ward and Dexter Dudley-Toole helped the Reds to a comfortable victory.
The results mean Redditch sit fifth in the Southern League Premier Central table, one point clear of the chasing pack in the race for a play-off place.
United took the lead at Sixways after just 10 minutes when a corner from the right broke kindly to Owen in the box and he lashed a shot into the top-left corner from eight-yards out.
However, City won a penalty on 29 minutes with Alex Foreshaw penalised for handball in the box as Charlie Lutz duly converted the resulting spot kick.
The Reds spurned a golden chance to reclaim the lead as the outstretched leg of Sam Kane denied Cameron from 10-yards out.
City went close after the break as Cameron Wilson took the ball around Stan Amos only for Owen to clear the goalbound effort before the ball crossed the line.
Redditch survived a scare soon after when Aaron Bishop glanced a free-kick into the box from the left onto his own post when defending a set-piece.
However, the home side completed the turnaround on 65 minutes when a long throw from the left hit a Redditch player at the near post and ricocheted into the net.
Worcester sealed the points eight minutes from time as Smalley cut in from the right and curled a low effort into the bottom left corner from just outside the penalty area.
That came after the Reds cruised to victory against 10-man Leiston in a dominant display from Mike Fowler’s side.
Redditch broke the deadlock on 14 minutes when Bunn coolly found the bottom left corner from Liam Loughlan’s through ball.
United doubled their lead on 27 minutes as Danny King robbed a defender of possession and took the ball past on rushing Leiston goalkeeper Billy Johnson before selfelssly squaring to Cameron who calmly finished past a defender on the line.
The home side sealed the points on 75 minutes when Ward swept a shot into the bottom right corner from Loughlan’s reverse pass.
Leiston then had Wyatt Hill sent off minutes later after he brought down Liam Loughran with the substitute through on goal as the last defender.
And the Reds struck again on 82 minutes when a flowing move saw Loughran hit the post and Dudley-Toole finished the rebound from close range.
The visitors scored a consolation goal three minutes from time as Adam Mills turned home a cross from the right from point-blank range.
Redditch are next in action against Real Bedford on Saturday, April 11 with kick-off at 3pm at the Valley Stadium.
