REDDITCH United have sold star midfielder Max Sheaf to Scottish Premiership side Ross County for an undisclosed fee.
Sheaf was a standout performer for the Reds last season and has earned a move to Scotland’s top flight having made more than 50 appearances for Redditch in 2022/23.
The midfielder scored eight goals and provided 18 assists last term and has signed a two-year deal with the Staggies.
Reds manager Matt Clarke said: “I’m really pleased for Max, he came in at a time where he had probably fallen out of love with football and when he came in, he was a breath of fresh air.
“He lit the place up with his goals, his free-kicks, his assists, his football and his attitude has been outstanding. He’s been very driven to get back into full time football.
“I promised him that he’d be with us for one season, I said that if he comes with us and does well then by the end of the season he’ll realise his dream of being back in full time football and he’s done exactly that.
“He’s done a great job for us and we’ve done an equally good job as we’ve given him a platform to play at a good level.
“He goes with our very best wishes and he’ll be someone we keep an eye on for the rest of his career. I’m very grateful I had the opportunity to work with Max for a season and he helped set high standards in training and in games.
“I’m really chuffed he’s got a move, not just to a full time club, but a move to a team that are playing in the top level in Scotland. I think it’s a fantastic move for him.
“I’m really pleased and it’s fully deserved as well, well done Max.”
County retained their Premiership status with a dramatic relegation/promotion play-off victory against Partick Thistle on penalties.
