SPORTING Club Inkberrow secured a third straight league win with a hard-fought 2-0 victory against Highworth Town.
Inkberrow took the lead just before the hour mark when Jay Higgins-Pugsley found the net before Leo Brown sealed the points late on at Sands Road.
The result means Sporting sit second in the Hellenic League Premier Division table, two points behind leaders Hartpury University who have two games in-hand.
Inkberrow’s ground staff worked tirelessly to ensure the game did not fall victim to Storm Bert.
After a goalless first period, the home side broke the deadlock on 58 minutes when Higgins-Pugsley finished from 15-yards out after good work from Will Skelton.
And Sporting made sure of the points on 87 minutes courtesy of Brown’s cool finish from Gregor Guy’s through ball.
Sporting Club Inkberrow are next in action against Cirencester Town on Saturday, November 30 with kick-off at 3pm at the Corinium Stadium.
