SPORTING Club Inkberrow inflicted a first away defeat of the season on Fairford Town after securing an impressive 3-1 victory.
First-half goals from Harry Grant, Jay Higgins-Pugsley and Jack Tolley put Sporting in command at Sands Road.
A penalty from Jamal Lawrence kept Fairford in the game after the break before the visitors had Henry Birkett sent off just past the hour mark for two yellow cards.
The result means Inkberrow sit third in the Hellenic League Premier Division table, four points behind leaders Hartpury University who have two games in hand.
Inkberrow broke the deadlock on 18 minutes when Grant side-footed a shot into the bottom right corner.
Sporting goalkeeper Gabriel Bajrami then saved a Fairford penalty to keep the home side ahead.
And Inkberrow doubled their lead on 37 minutes as Higgins-Pugsley finished off a flowing team move.
The hosts all but sealed the points on the stroke of half time when Tolley fired home a free-kick from 20-yards out.
Fairford won another penalty early in the second half which Lawrence converted only for Birkett to see red after picking up two bookings in the space of six minutes.
Inkberrow are next in action against Malmesbury Victoria on Saturday, November 16 with kick-off at 3pm at the Flying Monk Ground.
