SPORTING Club Inkberrow claimed a stunning 3-0 win away at Clanfield 85 to reach the Hellenic League Division One play-off final.

Inkberrow defied the 15-point gap between the teams in the league table, as Jay Higgins-Pugsley, Tom Emblem and substitute Leo Brown all found the net at Radcot Road.

And Sporting will play Malmesbury Victoria in the play-off final on Friday, April 26 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Flying Monk Ground.

Inkberrow unsettled the hosts with a high press from the off and broke the deadlock on 12 minutes when Higgins-Pugsley chased down the Clanfield goalkeeper, who failed to properly clear his lines, and the former finished from 12-yards out.

And the game’s decisive moment came on 60 minutes as Emblem calmly converted from the penalty spot after Gregor Guy drew a foul in the box as he travelled away from goal.

Sporting sealed their place in the final eight minutes from time when Brown’s shot deflected past the Clanfield keeper.

Inkberrow have enjoyed a remarkable first season as a Step Six club and now have the chance to secure promotion to the Hellenic League Premier Division.
