SPORTING Club Inkberrow returned to winning ways with a crucial 2-1 victory away at relegation-threatened Kidlington Reserves.
First-half goals from Dan-Lewis Bamana and Joel Steer kept Inkberrow’s play-off push on track at Yarnton Road.
And the result means Sporting sit fourth in the Hellenic League Division One table, five points clear of the chasing pack in the race for a play-off place.
Inkberrow broke the deadlock on 18 minutes when Bamana finished from Steer’s precise pass after the visitors made a strong start to the game.
And the away side doubled their lead on 27 minutes as Steer slid the ball home from the edge of the penalty area after wrong-footing the Kidlington defender and goalkeeper.
Sporting missed a number of chances to seal the points in the second half before Kidlington halved the deficit on 84 minutes as substitute Ryan Chambers headed home.
However, the visitors held on to stretch their unbeaten run on the road to four matches.
Inkberrow are next in action at home to Calne Town on Saturday, March 23 with kick-off at 3pm at Sands Road.
