WILL Skelton’s goal saw Sporting Club Inkberrow return to winning ways with a 1-0 victory at Westfields despite finishing the game with nine-men.

Skelton scored the game’s only goal on the half-hour mark at Allpay Park as Inkberrow ended their four-game losing run in all competitions.

However, the visitors had to play the final 15 minutes with nine-men after Luke Bastable and Tom Emblem both saw red for two yellow cards.

The result means Inkberrow sit sixth in the Hellenic League Premier Division table.

Skelton netted the winner from close range on 30 minutes after some determined running from Jack Tolley.

However, Inkberrow had Bastable sent off for two time wasting offences in quick succession to leave the visitors down to 10-men.

And Sporting then lost Emblem to a second yellow card soon after he committed a foul when already on a yellow card.

The visitors dug deep to preserve the points and claim a valuable win on the road.

Sporting Club Inkberrow are next in action away at leaders Corsham Town on Saturday, September 28 with kick-off at 3pm at Southbank.
