TOM Emblem scored two and set up another as Sporting Club Inkberrow returned to winning ways with a 3-1 home victory against Abingdon United.
Emblem scored direct from a corner before blasting a shot into the top corer after Will Skelton opened the scoring with Dylan Conlan on target for the visitors at the Inkberrow Recreation Ground.
And the result means Inkberrow sit third in the Hellenic League Division One table, five points behind leaders Malmesbury Victoria with a game in hand.
After suffering defeat in the Marsh Challenge Cup last weekend, Inkberrow made a bright start and took the lead on 19 minutes when Skelton headed home from Emblem’s corner.
And Emblem then grabbed a goal for himself as his corner went all the way in on 25 minutes to double Inkberrow’s advantage.
Abingdon reduced the deficit just four minutes later as Conlan finished well past Berrow goalkeeper Tom Nicholls.
However, the home side restored their two-goal lead on 49 minutes as Emblem fired a rocket of a shot into the top corner from 25-yards out to seal a sixth successive league victory.
Inkberrow are next in action away at Devizes Town on Saturday, October 14 with kick-off at 3pm at Nursteed Road.
