SPORTING Club Inkberrow lost 4-0 away at promotion rivals Hartpury University as the Berrow slipped to their heaviest league defeat of the season so far.
Louis Manning’s first-half brace put Hartpury in command before second-half goals from Riley McGregor and Billy Osborn completed the scoring at Hartpury College.
And the result means Inkebrrow sit fourth in the Hellenic League Division One table, level on points with Hartpury who have three games in-hand.
Hartpury took the lead on 15 minutes when Manning hammered the ball home via the underside of the crossbar after Inkberrow failed to deal with a long ball up the pitch.
And Manning doubled his tally for the game shortly before half time after breaking clear of the Inkberrow defence and sliding a shot past Ben Ladds.
Despite making a bright start to the second half, the Berrow conceded again on 70 minutes as McGregor found the bottom right corner from the edge of the penalty area from Manning’s cutback.
And the home side completed the scoring with 10 minutes left to play as Osborn headed in from close range after the ball deflected kindly into his path.
Inkberrow are next in action at home to FC Stratford on Tuesday, October 31 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Inkberrow Recreation Ground.
