SPORTING Club Inkberrow saw their unbeaten start to the season come to an end following back-to-back defeats against Cirencester Town and Hartpury University respectively.
Inkberrow lost 2-1 at home to Cirencester before suffering a 3-1 defeat against Hartpury at Sands Road as the club’s eight-game unbeaten run came to an end.
The results mean Inkberrow sit sixth in the Hellenic League Premier Division table.
Despite a dominant performance from the home side against Cirencester, the visitors took the lead on 35 minutes when Jack Horrell scored from the penalty spot following a foul by Inkberrow goalkeeper Gabriel Bajrami.
The hosts eventually drew level on 55 minutes as Jay Higgins-Pugsley fired home from 12-yards out.
However, Cirencester snatched the points with five minutes left to play when Horrell finished from close range following a counter attack.
Sporting Club Inkberrow are next in action against Heather St Johns in the FA Vase on Saturday, September 21 with kick-off at 3pm at St John’s Park.
