STUDLEY FC dispatched Cirencester Town Development 2-0 to secure a fifth straight win and remain eight points clear at the top of the table.

The Bees scored twice in the second half through Sean Brain and Robbie Bunn to wrap up another comfortable victory at the Corinium Stadium as they kept a fifth clean sheet in a row.

And the result means Studley remain top of the Hellenic League Division One table, eight points ahead of nearest challengers Worcester Raiders who have a game in hand.

Playing in their third straight match on the road, Studley missed several first-half chances and were almost made to pay when Bees goalkeeper Brendon Bunn made a fine save on the stroke of half time.

However, Studley made the breakthrough on 46 minutes when Brain cut inside of his man before unleashing a 30-yard shot that found the bottom corner.

And the game was put to bed on 75 minutes when R. Bunn tapped home from close range from Brain’s pass.

Bees substitute Odane Barnes struck the crossbar on two occasions the first with a shot and the second with a header as the visitors took another step towards the title.

Studley are next in action away at Shortwood United on Saturday, March 19 with kick-off at 3pm at Meadowbank Stadium.
