STUDLEY’S Hannah Hampton is on the shortlist for the 2025 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.

Hampton is one of six athletes on the shortlist for the top prize following a stellar year with Chelsea and England.

She is joined on the shortlist by Lionesses teammate Chloe Kelly, rugby union player Ellie Kildunne, darts player Luke Littler, golfer Rory McIlroy and recently crowned Formula One world champion Lando Norris.

Voting will take place during the show which will be broadcast live on BBC One on Thursday, December 18 from 7pm.

The event will take place at MediaCityUK in Salford.

Members of the public can vote online on the night for the main award. Full details will be announced during the show.

Goalkeeper Hampton helped England win UEFA Euro 2025 in the summer after saving two penalties in the shootout against Spain.

The 25-year-old also recorded 13 clean sheets in 22 Women’s Super League (WSL) appearances for Chelsea.

Hampton helped Chelsea complete a domestic treble last season.

She won the best goalkeeper prize – the Yashin Trophy – at the Ballon d’Or awards earlier this year.

Hampton also earned a place in the FIFPRO women’s World 11, voted for by her fellow professionals.

And the goalkeeper was also voted BBC women’s footballer of the year for 2025 last month.
