TIM Flowers admits Alvechurch looked fragile defensively for the first time in a while after his side suffered a 4-3 defeat against Quorn in midweek.
Church saw their run of five consecutive clean sheets in the league come to an abrupt end as the home side shipped four goals at Lye Meadow.
Despite goals from Frank Tattum, Kieran Wakefield and Tope Obadeyi, Church slipped to a narrow home defeat.
The result leaves Alvechurch third in the Southern League Premier Central table.
And Flowers felt his side never looked comfortable when defending against the newly-promoted team.
Flowers said: “We played straight into their hands after a couple of minutes and straightaway we’re chasing the game.
“We left ourselves bare behind the football and we got caught on the counter attack.
“We never looked comfortable defensively. You can’t score three goals at home and get beat.
“For the first time in a long time we looked fragile at the back.
“But that group has been absolutely unbelievable so far this season for this club.
“There’s no throwing the teacups around but we’ve got to learn you have to do the ugly side of football behind the ball.”
Alvechurch are next in action against St Ives Town on Saturday, October 18 with kick-off at 3pm at Westwood Road.
