TIM Flowers believes Alvechurch need to find a way to grind out results if they are to have a better season following a derby defeat against Redditch United.
Church slipped to a 1-0 defeat at the Valley Stadium while debutant Harley Hamilton saw red for the visitors.
And after losing a third straight league game, Flowers admits the result could end up costing his side at the end of the campaign.
Flowers said: “We missed the first real big chance of the game and he’s got to score, it’s an absolutely massive chance to go one-nil up.
“The next big chance fell to Tope [Obadeyi], he shoots and just misses the target. Then they score off the second phase of a set-piece.
“We’re asleep, someone switches off. Then we get a sending off. The referee goes off the squeal. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the lad.
“You think he must have broken his leg. Get the paramedics on but that’s actually nothing wrong with him.
“Referees get surrounded and they panic and it is what it is. He actually nicks the ball. He gets sent off on his debut.
“If you aspire to be a decent side or have a better season then this has to finish nil-nil in a worst case scenario.
“You throw one away like that and it hurts you. These are things that end up costing you.”
Alvechurch host Worcester City in the FA Trophy on Saturday, October 25 with kick-off at 3pm at Lye Meadow.
