TIM Flowers has resigned as manager of Alvechurch with the club on a seven-game losing run in the league.

The club accepted Flowers’ resignation following a 2-0 home defeat against Banbury United this weekend.

Church made an impressive start to the campaign but have dropped to 18th in the Southern League Premier Central table.

Player-assistant manager Kyle Storer will take charge of the side on an interim basis until the club appoint a new manager.

An Alvechurch club statement reads: “We have today accepted the resignation of first team manager Tim Flowers.

“We would like to thank Tim for his efforts, particularly coming into the club at a difficult time last season and preventing us from slipping into a relegation battle.

“We wish him well in his future endeavours.

“Kyle Storer will take the position on an interim basis until a permanent solution has been found.”

Church have lost their last seven league matches and have failed to score in any of their last six Southern League Premier Central fixtures.

The club now sit just one place above the relegation zone but are eight points clear of the drop.

Despite the club’s poor league form, Flowers guided Church to the third round of the FA Trophy.
