IT HAS been an extraordinary 12 months for Wythall’s Fulford Heath Golf Club which is now in possession of two of the West Midlands’ major golf trophies.
This is a feat which has only ever been achieved once in the 52-year history of the competitions.
Captain Mark Watson won the West Midlands League Golf Trophy in September 2018 having competing against 34 of the region’s finest golf teams.
New captain David Parker carried on this success in 2019 by winning the West Midlands League Cup – the Davenports Salver – in August.
Parker said: “It has been a great team effort from lots of people over the past few years which has culminated in Fulford Heath Golf Club being so successful.”
Watson echoed the sentiments, saying: “We will build on our current success by bringing younger members through and helping them to reach the very top of their game.”
Fulford Heath Golf Club provides coaching and fun golf activities for juniors and is always helping to develop and nurture local talent.
