LILI-ROSE Hunt, from Redditch, claimed an impressive second place finish at the English Girls’ Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship at The Caversham Golf Club in Reading.
Hunt finished on seven-under par (-7) to claim second place behind Gia Raad of South Africa who produced two eagles in her final round to end up on 12-under (-12).
However, Hunt shot a stunning third round 66 to head into the final 18 holes tied for the lead with eventual champion Raad.
The Redditch golfer shot 69, 73 and 66 in her first three rounds and was level with Raad after nine holes in the final round as the lead repeatedly changed hands in a thrilling finale.
However, Raad hit eagles at the 11th and 14th respectively to move two shots clear with four holes to play.
An unfortunate double bogey on the 18th and final hole meant Hunt finished with a final round score of 73, paving the way for Raad to complete a five-shot victory.
Czech Republic’s Annika Kohoutek finished third on three-under par (-3) with Mia Ingham fourth on one-under (-1).
