REDDITCH Hockey Club endured a mixed week of results across their respective teams.
The men’s first team battled to a 3-2 win as Josh Brown scored twice and Jacob Beard also found the net to extend the club’s unbeaten start to the season.
And the men’s second team also remain unbeaten with an impressive 6-0 win at Worcester 4ths as Harry Saunders scored a brace while Lee Beedon, Andy Brooks, Richard Sellors and Miller Glen were all on target.
The men’s third team made it four wins in a row thanks to two goals from Anthony Brookes and further strikes from Alex Ward, Hadley Kilkenny, and Marshall Glen.
The men’s fourth team made the trip to Sutton Coldfield with just 10 players with the home side willing to share two members of their team with Redditch.
One of the shared players scored against Sutton for Redditch with Jacob D the away side’s other scorer to cap a fine performance.
The ladies first team slipped to a 4-3 defeat against University of Birmingham despite Claire Humphries opening the scoring and Marie-Ann Irons and Lydia Hood also finding the net.
However, the ladies second team maintained their unbeaten start to the season as Louise Jenkins and Sophie E scored quickfire goals before Becki Clarke sealed the win in the second half.
The club’s Badgers team suffered another close defeat despite an improved performance in which they created a number of scoring chances.
