REDDITCH Hockey Club endured a mixed bag of results while the weather put pay to two matches due to frozen pitches.
The ladies first team drew 1-1 with Barford Tigers as both goalkeepers made an number of stunning saves in an end-to-end contest.
Jo Cook equalised for Redditch from a penalty corner move with 10 minutes left to play which sparked a frantic finale as the game ended all square.
Elsewhere, the men’s second team thrashed Stourport 4ths 6-1 to extend their league at the top of the table by six points.
Lee Beedon scored twice with Harry Saunders, James Makin, Richard Sellors and Miller G all on target in a comprehensive victory.
The men’s third team avenged their opening day defeat against another Stourport side with a 4-1 away win on a cold and icy pitch.
Former player John Manison returned to the side and came off the bench to open the scoring after beating three players before calmly lifting the ball over the Stourport goalkeeper.
Stourport equalised with a clever flick before Manison scored his second of the game to put Redditch back in front.
And the visitors quickly added a third goal courtesy of Ali Budhwani, who netted his first Redditch goal in the process, before Ben McFarland swept home the final goal of the game after great work from Marshall G.
Lastly, the club’s under-10’s took part in their monthly tournament at Malvern and continue to show signs of improvement with some confident and impressive hockey.
