REDDITCH Hockey Club’s men’s second and third teams both secured promotion with the latter side claiming a remarkable 12-0 victory.

The men’s second team can still win the league title with two games left to play and have shown a marked improvement this season following an eighth place finish last campaign.

And the third team secured back-to-back promotions with a convincing 12-0 win against Finchfield 5ths.

Redditch dominated from start to finish as John Manison scored two quickfire goals before Martyn Strong, Ben McFarland and Hadley Kilkenny all found the net before the break.

And Redditch scored three goals in the space of three minutes after the interval as Hadley and McFarland struck again while Mansion completed his hat-trick.

McFarland then completed a treble of his own before Strong added his second and Alex Ward scored a sensational solo goal, running with the ball from inside his own half.

Another goal for Manison, who scored his fourth of the game with an elegant chip, ensured Redditch secured promotion in style.

Elsewhere, the men’s first team claimed an impressive 4-0 win against bogey team Stafford with Jacob Beard, Andy Billingham, Josh Brown and Jack Gwyer all on target.

The win means Redditch are four points clear of Cannock in second and know a win away at Edgbaston this weekend will guarantee promotion as champions.

And the ladies second team were also victorious at Old Halesonians 2nds as Becki Clarke found the bottom right corner following a series of short corners.

Redditch doubled their when captain Louise Jennings slotted the ball into the far side of the goal before Elsie S added another goal before the break.

And Bea Salter stretched Redditch’s lead in the second half with a sweeping strike.

Lastly, the men’s 4ths suffered a 3-1 defeat at Sutton Coldfield as the home side scored twice in the first half and added a late third.

However, Redditch scored the goal of the game as Jacob Dobson took the ball into the opposition D before beating two defenders and firing home.
