REDDITCH Hockey Club produced a strong set of performances in the second week of winter season fixtures.
The Ladies first team secured an impressive 4-1 win against Bridgnorth 2nds as Marie-Anne Irons scored a hat-trick while Dee McDowell debuted in goal.
And the Ladies 2nd team romped to a resounding 8-0 win away at Bournville as their hard work over the summer paid off.
Having lost 2-1 in the last meeting between the two teams, Redditch’s young side showed how far they have come as Tula W scored three while Frankie G netted a brace with Sophie E, Ava G and Alice W all on target.
And with the a combined age of just 39, Redditch’s three defenders helped the team record a deserved clean sheet.
The men’s first team drew 2-2 in a hard-fought game against a young University of Birmingham side with Andy Billingham and Harrison Young scoring for Redditch.
And the men’s second team took on a goalkeeper-less University of Birmingham team, securing a 4-0 victory courtesy of four goals from Martyn Strong.
The men’s 4ths battled to a 1-0 win against Atherstone Adders as Russ Baldwin’s powerful effort proved decisive.
And the club’s Badgers team suffered a 7-0 defeat away at Bromsgrove, although the final scoreline did not reflect the effort levels shown by the Redditch club.
