REDDITCH Hockey Club’s senior teams slipped to defeats while the men’s second and third squads claimed impressive victories.

The ladies first team lost 3-2 against Old Silhillians although several Redditch youngsters impressed as Elsie S scored her first goal for the senior squad.

And Elsie then provided the assist for Redditch’s second goal as Jo Reaney finished off an excellent move.

However, Old Sils matched Redditch goal for goal, despite some fine saves from Dee McDowell, before a penalty stroke won the game for Silhillians.

And the ladies second team also suffered defeat at Edgbaston 4ths in their toughest test of the season so far.

Youngsters Freya W, Katie H and Chloe B, having already played for the Badgers side, showcased their skills as Edgbaston scored a goal in either half to win the game.

The men’s first team dropped to sixth in the table, in a tight division, after slipping to a 2-0 defeat against Old Halesonians.

Redditch have a game in-hand and could move back up to second place with a win just one point behind the league leaders.

The men’s second team extended their unbeaten to 10 matches with a dominant 6-0 win against Old Halesonians 3rds to move three points clear of University of Birmingham 6ths at the top of the table.

And the men’s third team continued their fine form with a 3-0 victory against Old Halesonians 5ths as Ali Budhwani scored a brace and Jake Guy netted his first goal of the season.
