REDDITCH Hockey Club’s senior teams enjoyed an unbeaten week of results across their senior teams.
The men’s first team edged out Stone 1-0 to remain two points clear at the top of the table while the ladies first team drew 4-4 with Worcester 2nds in an eight-goal thriller.
And the men’s second team secured a 2-1 win against Olton 5ths to sit five points clear at the top of their league while the ladies second team romped to an impressive 5-0 win against Harborne 5ths with Frankie G scoring a hat-trick.
The men’s first are now 10 points clear at the top of their league after battling to a 3-2 victory against Sutton Coldfield 7ths.
Redditch took the lead after just two minutes when Ben McFarland scored his ninth goal of the season before Sutton Coldfield levelled the game to send the teams into the break all square.
And Redditch reclaimed the lead as the returning Alex Ward provided an excellent finish from a slip pass.
The visitors extended their lead when John Manison scored from a penalty corner before Sutton reduced the deficit and missed a chance to level the game from a contentious penalty corner late on.
The club’s Badgers team suffered a 4-1 defeat away at Stourport.
