DAN Skelton will consider working back from the Grade Two Nickel Coin Mares’ Standard National Hunt Flat Race at Aintree in the spring with Let It Rain following her eye-catching victory on debut, much to the delight of her owner Christopher Greenall, Skelton will consider Let It Rain

The daughter of Kayf Tara turned the Join Racing TV Now EBF Mares’ Open National Hunt Flat Race into a procession when scooting clear late on under Harry Skelton before scoring by eight-lengths, a margin which could have easily been much more.

The Shelfield Green trainer said: “She is good. To sit out the back in a field like that then come through and beat them like she did was good. I’m very happy and hopefully Chris (Greenall) can be a lucky man for the yard.

“We will campaign her lightly this season and run her in a couple more bumpers and then go hurdling next season. She has looked good at home, but it is all fine and dandy doing that, however they have got to do it at the track as well.

“The Listed bumper at Huntingdon comes too soon. She will probably have one run the other side of Christmas and then go to Aintree.”
