Kingfishers hit five in final friendly

Redditch Editorial 27th Sep, 2018   0

REDDITCH head into Saturday’s West Midlands Premier Division opener at home to Stafford buoyed by a 5-3 victory over Tamworth in their final pre-season friendly on Saturday.

The Kingfishers, who have largely impressed throughout their warm-up campaign, controlled the majority of the match against Tamworth and goals scored were the result of good build-up play across both sides of the pitch.

However, there was some disappointment at the manner of all the goals conceded against a side a division below them.

Goalscorers for Redditch were James Makin (2), Jacob Beard, Dan Jakeman and Harry Williams.

Also in action at home on Saturday are Redditch 3rds against Sutton Coldfield 4ths in South West Division Two and the Badgers versus Kings Heath.

Redditch 2nds visit Worcester 3rds in South West Premier and Redditch 4ths travel to Bromsgrove 5ths in South West Division Four.

The ladies get their season under way a week on Saturday.
