REDDITCH-based martial artist 6th Dan Shihan Treadwell led Midlands Squad training for the Great Britain Martial Arts Team last weekend – the first GB training session of the year.
Shihan Treadwell, who runs the Furi Sutairu Shotokan Karate (FSK) Academy in Redditch, led the session supported by 6th Dan Master Chris Hemstock and 7th Dan Sensei Len Norman.
The trio oversaw athletes from all over the United Kingdom who have previously achieved podium finishes at national events.
And the session provided a great opportunity to work with the GB team ahead of the World Martial Arts Games in Daytona, United States of America next year.
Students worked on sparring drills, fitness drills, bag work and sparring over a two-hour session held at Ringside Boxing Gym in Redditch.
Shihan Treadwell teaches his students on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6pm until 7.30pm at Arrow Vale RSA Academy in Matchborough, Redditch.
