SHIHAN Dave Treadwell and six of his FSK Redditch students are busy preparing to compete at the World Martial Arts Games in Daytona, Florida at the end of the month.
The 6th Dan currently coaches for Great Britain and will be competing in the three-day event that takes place on July 29, 30 and 31.
Some six FSK students – Josh Thorp, Dean Cooke, Theo Giles, Cleo McFarlane, Elara Sands and Frankie Sands – will join Treadwell competing in a variety of categories including kata, weapons and sparring.
Team GB will be taking a squad of 60 athletes in total to the event as countries from around the world descend upon the Sunshine State.
All competitors have worked tirelessly over the last 12 months in their respective dojo’s and at national and regional squad training sessions to prepare for the event.
Athletes taking part in specific national events over the past year earned selection for the squad.
