SHIHAN Treadwell led by example as team FSK Redditch enjoyed a medal-laden first outing of the competitive season at the Peterborough Championships.
Treadwell won gold in the first event of the day and then placed third in the team kata competition.
The Redditch-based club made the trip east with a small squad as they looked to hone their skills ahead of the World Games in Daytona later this year.
And Josh Thorp finished first in weapon kata and third in team kata to come away with two medals.
That was followed by Dean Cooke who claimed point sparring gold and individual kata silver whilst Ollie Scott also won silver in individual kata and Cleo McFarlane was runner-up in kata.
Shihan Treadwell said: “I couldn’t be prouder and this group and they didn’t just compete to a high standard but conducted themselves brilliantly throughout the event and support each other.
“The squad travel to Norwich next week for their next event of 2023 hoping to add to their medal haul.”
