Nash on the podium

REDDITCH driver David Nash rose to the challenge to claim two places on the podium in the weekend’s 4two Cup Championship at Rockingham.

Qualifying at 11.45am on a damp, cold, slippery track was always going to be difficult, but Nash kept his cool to qualify fourth after a great battle against Martin Clatworthy.

For race one on Saturday the track was dry and the sun was out. The start of the race was fast and furious with Nash moving into second place behind Clatworthy.

The pair had a great battle in the first part of the race but both hit oil dropped by one of the other cars at Pif Paf corner, although Nash managed to make the best of the situation and take the chequered flag with the fastest lap time.

There were sunny conditions for race two on Sunday and Nash started on pole, but was quickly joined by Clatworthy and James Palmer and the three Smart cars gave great racing entertainment for 20 minutes, with Nash taking third position and a second podium place of the weekend.
