ANDY Flynn – a racing driver from Redditch – finished on the podium in the BRSCC MX5 Supercup at Brands Hatch Formula Ford Festival last weekend.
Flynn secured third place in the Club Class category in the last round of the BRSCC MX5 Supercup at Brands Hatch – having also raced at Silverstone and Donington Park amongst other venues earlier this year.
The race proved difficult for many drivers as rain hampered proceedings leading to several incidents which forced the safety car to be deployed to remove cars from the circuit.
The Redditch man – who used to test drive for General Motors and MIRA – raced with Formula Renault team Falcon Motorsport before being struck by a serious illness.
He made a return to motorsport in the highly competitive BRSCC MX5 Supercup this year where he currently sits 10th in the club class standings with 808 points from seven race weekends.
Racing under AF Motorsport name – Flynn has consistently improved his position each weekend and was delighted with the podium finish at the historic Formula Ford Festival weekend.
