ALCESTER RFC secured their biggest win of the campaign with a 41-0 victory against Old Leamingtonians on the final day of the season.
The Kings Coughton club rounded off their first Counties 1 Midlands West (South) season with a dominant home victory to seal a sixth-place finish.
Alcester finished the campaign with arguably their best performance of the season as utility player Jamie Clarke, playing on the left wing, scored the game’s first try.
And the Kings Coughton club extended their lead when Christian Rushton raced in after Jack Green intercepted an OL pass as Ed Gough kicked the extras to send Alcester into the break with a 12-point lead.
Alcester remained in the ascendancy in the second period as captain Will Silk crossed for the home side’s third try after Dwayne Cruickshank ran from halfway with Gough again kicking the conversion.
And Mark Burrell scored Alcester’s bonus point try as the wing finished off a flowing move before Gough touched down and the home side lost Cruickshank to the sin bin.
However, despite playing with a man short, Alcester struck again as Clarke crashed over for his second try and Gough added the extras.
And Clarke completed his hat-trick from another Cruickshank assist to seal a 41-point victory as Alcester recorded their first shutout of the season.
