REDDITCH RFC suffered back-to-back home defeats for the first time this season after losing 22-5 against Malvern II.
The Kingfishers scored their only try through Richie Beddard in the second half before his injury allowed Malvern to take control and win the game at Bromsgrove Road.
And the result means Redditch sit fifth in the Counties 4 Midlands West (South) table.
A low-scoring first period saw Malvern break the deadlock shortly before the interval with a penalty after Redditch missed with two penalty attempts of their own earlier in the half.
The Kingfishers took the lead in the second half when Beddard crossed for the first try of the game following a well-executed move from a lineout deep in the Malvern half.
However, Beddard departed the field soon after due to injury with Redditch forced to reshuffle their back line.
And Malvern took advantage of Redditch’s rearranged back line to score a converted try down the left before striking again down the same side soon after despite an excellent covering tackle from Will Heath.
The visitors stretched their lead to 17 points with the Kingfishers unable to find a way back into the game despite several big carries from Dan Oscroft and Mikey Adams.
Redditch are next in action away at Old Halesonians II on Saturday, November 11 with kick-off at 2.15pm at Wassell Grove Lane.
