REDDITCH Exiles lost 29-24 against a composite side made up of mainly Stourport players with support from Bloxwich and Stourbridge.

Prior to kick-off the two teams lined up for a minute’s applause in memory of former Redditch player Tim Broadbridge.

Redditch scored the game’s first try when slick handling allowed captain Aaron Atkinson dot down in the corner.

From the restart, Josh Kearney rolled back the years to run 60-metres before quick ball from the ruck sent Atkinson over for his second try.

Moments later, Craig Martin also rolled back the years with a punishing run before feeding Joe Looker to score out wide.

And Joe Morgan then crossed for a superb individual try under the posts to put Redditch into a commanding 24-point lead.

Redditch made a few changes to even up the two teams as Atkinson touched down his third try this time for Stourport after good work from Rory Allen.

A string of penalties helped Stourport up the pitch before scoring close to the posts and the visitors struck again to reduce the deficit to a single score.

And turnover ball then allowed Stourport to level the scores out wide before Martin, who also switched sides earlier in the game, barged over for the winning try for Stourport.
