REDDITCH RFC romped to their biggest win of the season after cruising to a 40-0 victory at bottom club Trinity Guild.

Matt Allen crossed twice while Aaron Atkinson Jon Beale, Joe Morgan and Joe Purvis also touched down in a bonus point win at Segro Park.

And the result means Redditch sit eighth in the Counties 4 Midlands West (South) table.

The Kingfishers produced a scintillating first-half display which saw the visitors run in 33 unanswered points.

Redditch scored the game’s first try in bizarre circumstances after the referee ruled out an initial score out wide and brought play back for a Redditch penalty.

However, the ever-alert Allen barged over to score as Will Spires kicked the conversion.

And the visitors crossed again when Atkinson touched down before Beale managed to ground the ball under a pack of bodies on the line.

At the other end, Rory Allen produced two try-saving tackles to keep Trinity Guild at bay.

Morgan then outpaced a home defender to score Redditch’s bonus point try while Allen grabbed his second try of the game before the break.

And Purvis dotted down the away side’s only try of the second half as the Kingfishers handed debuts to Chris Coleman, Albert Bok and Clarke Lostman.

Redditch are next in action against league leaders Droitwich II on Saturday, December 21 with kick-off at 2.15pm at Bromsgrove Road.
