REDDITCH RFC ran in eight tries as the Kingfishers dismantled bottom of the table Trinity Guild 50-5 to secure just their second win of the season.
Matt Allen crossed for a hat-trick of tries whilst Aaron Atkinson dotted down twice with Jon Beale, Will Spires and James Mathews all on target at Bromsgrove Road.
The result means Redditch sit ninth in the Counties 4 Midlands West (South) table with 10 points from five matches.
Redditch scored the game’s first try when Atkinson took a quick tap penalty from close to the halfway line and caught the Trinity defence cold to score under the posts.
And the home side were in again soon after as Allen scored the first of his three tries with a superb run from 60 metres out and outran the chasing defenders to score under the sticks.
There was more joy for Redditch when Beale scooped up a loose ball near his own 22 and ran the length of the pitch to score the Kingfishers third try.
And Spires joined in on the act with another score from distance as he sprinted 60 metres to the line and converted all four scores.
Allen scored his second try, after good work from Clarke Parker and Joe Looker, as he bundled his way over to further increase Redditch’s lead.
And Atkinson notched his second of the game when he retrieved a wayward goal-line dropout and glided through the Trinity defence to score under the posts and sent Redditch into the break with a 40-0 lead.
Allen completed his hat-trick in the second half after some sustained pressure on the Trinity line with the visitors finally rewarded for their endeavour with a try out wide – their only score of the match.
And Mathews scored Redditch’s eighth and final try from a driven scrum that left the opposition pack scattered.
Redditch are next in action away at Bishops Castle on Saturday, October 22 with kick-off at 3pm at Love Lane.
