REDDITCH RFC suffered a 26-5 derby defeat against Bromsgrove III to lose at home for the fourth time this season.
The game took place on the second team pitch after the club’s main pitch at Bromsgrove Road did not drain sufficiently.
A breakaway try from Sid Allen saw Redditch take the lead after Richie Beddard’s break caught out a flat-footed Bromsgrove defence.
Bromsgrove responded soon after as former Redditch player Gareth Davies levelled the scores.
The home side trailed by two points at the break before injuries took their toll on both sides in the second period.
Despite playing with a man less, Bromsgrove scored three more tries against a reshuffled Redditch side.
Bromsgrove suffered more injuries late on which left the visitors below the permitted amount of players as the referee called time early on the contest.
Redditch are next in action against Malvern II on Saturday, November 29 with kick-off at 2.15pm at Spring Lane.
