REDDITCH RFC lost 16-11 at Keresley as the Kingfishers suffered a seventh consecutive defeat on the road.
Archie Beddard kicked two penalties while Jack Mertens scored Redditch’s only try in a low-scoring affair at Burrow Hill Lane.
The result means Redditch sit ninth in the Counties 4 Midlands West (South) table
Try-scoring opportunities were at a premium throughout as Beddard edged the Kingfishers into a three-point lead with a penalty from close to halfway.
However, Keresley scored the game’s first try after intercepting a pass close to the their own line and running the length of the pitch to score.
Redditch took a slender lead into the break, after Beddard kicked another penalty, only for Keresley to score their second try and kick two penalties to turn the game on its head.
The Kingfishers kept the home side at bay thereafter but lacked sharpness in attack before Mertens crossed for the away side’s only try following a crisp passage of play.
Redditch are next in action against Droitwich II on Saturday, March 23 with kick-off at 3pm at Bromsgrove Road.
