C AND G SHOW remain top of the Redditch Skittles League standings after they secured a convincing win against Swingers.
The first leg was halved before C and G Show put their foot down to take each of the remaining four legs comfortably.
All of their players scored well with Andy Maine leading the way with 38 pins and backed up with 37 pins each from Rich Fisher and Aaron Evans.
Swingers had more inconsistent scores from their bowlers and best scores came from Jim Child with 40 pins (including 12 stack) and Larry Hanks and Martin Brennan making 35 each.
Engineers moved into second spot despite losing the first leg against Jumbo Jet Set, as they proceeded to wrap up the game with a score of 83 pins in the second leg – the highest leg score for the season.
And there was no let up over the last three legs as they amassed the highest team total to date – 361 pins – as Craig Sears led the way with 43 (16 stack) closely followed by Craig Ellis with 41 (12 stack).
Jumbo Jet Set have yet to bowl well as a team this season and only briefly thought they might gain a second leg point in the fourth leg. In the end only Rob Quartly with 36 and Mick Stanton with 35 bowled well.
The closest game of the week was between Lodge Farmers who narrowly beat Nomads.
Nomads took the first leg by a single pin before finding themselves 10 pins adrift after leg two but fought back to take each of the next two legs to trail by three pins ahead of of the final leg.
They then set Lodge Farmers a tricky 62 pins to win the game which they duly managed.
For the winners, Andrew Rumble top scored with 49 pins (17 and 11 stacks), the best individual score of
the season, and Rachel Morris 37.
Nomads had Bob Browning scoring 40 (14 stack) and in form Alan Spreckley making 38.
